Environmental Sustainability is one of Millennium development goals they wish to integrate the principles of sustainable development into countries policy and reverse the loss of environmental resources. Dominican Republic is working on the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation. According to the World FactBook Sanitation in the urban area have improved by 87%, and in the rural area by 74%.
